Revised Omega Game Types Lineup

Well hello thar! It's been an interesting few weeks of tweaking, and upon majority requests, here is the finalized game mode that's on rotation on Omega:

Randomizer (runs on standard cp, pl, plr, tc and koth maps)
Standard Arena Mode (runs on standard TF2 arena maps)
Prophunt
Dodgeball
MGEmod

All modes (except for MGEmod) are available via rtv and nominate, and maps from each game mode are randomly selected through end map voting. MGE Training mod will be manually called if players request for it, since it's a pretty niche request.

Meet The Omega Starter Pack

To make it easy for all of you in getting the first 12 maps on rotation in the Agentcy Omega server, we've put all 12 maps together in a ZIP file. Just click on the link below, and once it's done, have it copied to:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\(your username)\team fortress 2\tf\maps

It might make your life easier if we told you what the first 12 maps on rotation are, so if you've got those, you'd be assured of going 12 maps without having to stop for downloads. Introducing: The Alpha and Omega

We are proud to announce a revamped lineup to the Agentcy series of servers, which will differentiate between what server 1 and 2 stands for.

The Agentcy | Alpha: All-talk instaspawn server on normal map rotation, the Agentcy you all know and love

The Agentcy | Omega: All-talk instaspawn server on custom map rotation, where Prophunt, Dodgeball are active

Zombie Fortress is present on the server, but inactive, as there's still a couple of tweak left to be done. As for other mods or plugins such as Stomp or Wario, it's currently sitting in our pending box, and we'll look at player demand to evaluate if it should be turned active.

Please do make theagentcy.blogspot.com your regular destination, which would give you server updates and news, and more importantly, map lists for Omega server. Please do let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions you'd like to share.

I've lumped King of the Hill and Zombie Fortress maps under Others simply because I'd like to hear on what other maps you'd like to see, as we just end up downloading every koth and zf map we can find, which isn't very productive use of our time.

So there you go! This may seem like a Prophunt and Arena heavy list, but that's certainly not an indication of what the server is going to be favouring - let us know what you'd like, and we'll put have it included in rotation.

Finally, we will be revealing mechanics structure for Agentcy 2, which will feature themed days and mod preferences. More details tomorrow!

The Agentcy 2!

It's been a long time coming, but we're inching closer to unveiling our second server, which should please many of our regulars who's been requesting for the return of an Agentcy custom map server.

We expect setup and testing to commence tomorrow, and if everything works out fine, Agentcy 2 should be able to go live in two day's time :)

The Agentcy 4.1

Ohai! If you could just ignore the fact that our last post was a year ago, we can just move on ahead and assume this blog is useful once again. In any case, welcome back to The Agentcy, and boy we've taken a long journey to get here.

To quickly get everyone back on track in terms of what has happened, here are some of the highlights:

Feb: The Agentcy was revived under the name Agentcy 3.0 using the same hosting company we were with back in the days of Agentcy 2.0. That proved to be a huge mistake, as it was clear that they continued to have bandwidth and performance issues.

March: Left said hosting company for good, started talks with BolehVPN. Agentcy 3.0 was created.

April: Migrated to a more advanced and modern gaming management system, makinng off-site updating and player management easier. Agentcy 4.0 was born.

April: Server crashes identified as issues with Steam updates. Recent Steam updates, particularly the Hatless Update, was hugely problematic, as it introduced a series of corrupt files and errors from their end. We had to reinstall TF2 3 times before problem is rectified.

April: Agentcy 4.1 goes live, with Sourcemod disabled. Am thinking of re-installing Sourcemod, as a new version has been released.
